Even if you have a foreign trade certificate or diploma, and experience you need to contact the Alberta Government - Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training. What are the duties for this trade?

Electricians install, alter and repair electrical systems and related equipment of any kind (heating, power, control, signals, fire alarms) in commercial, industrial, institutional and residential buildings and structures and outdoor areas. They can work with electrical wires and fiber optic cables. The work is indoors and outdoors depending on the project. Electricians need to be able lift items weighing up to 25 kg (67 pounds).
