What are the licensing requirements for an internationally educated Naturopathic Doctor
There are no international standards or agreements for naturopathic education other than U.S. and Canada. Graduates from naturopathic colleges in other countries are not eligible to apply for the Naturopathic Physicians Licensing Examinations to practice in North America. The exams are administered at the state and provincial level by the North American Board of Naturopathic Examiners for graduates of a North American accredited program.
What educational institutions offer a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine program in Canada
Accredited programs in Canada are offered by the The Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto and the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine in New Westminster, British Columbia. In the United States, the following four schools of naturopathic medicine offer Naturopathic Doctor programs:
- Bastyr University School of Naturopathic Medicine near Seattle, Washington.
- National College of Naturopathic Medicine Portland, Oregon.
- Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine and Health Sciences Scotsdale, Arizona.
- University of Bridgeport College of Naturopathic Medicine in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
