In Alberta, the minimum education requirement for psychologists is a master's degree with the coursework required to become a Registered Psychologist.
In Alberta, the following institutions offer masters and doctoral degree programs in psychology:
• Athabasca University
• Loma Linda University, (based in California) offers a M.Sc. degree program in Marital and Family Therapy in Camrose, Alberta.
• University of Alberta
• University of Calgary
• University of Lethbridge
The entrance requirement for a master's degree program in psychology is usually an acceptable average in a four-year bachelor's degree program with a specialization in psychology (honors program preferred). In Alberta, the following institutions offer four year bachelor's degree programs with a major in psychology or educational psychology:
