Ms. Penny Colton presented on Geology and Geophysics professions in Calgary and some venues to network with during job search and career development.

The Geoscience Affairs department is part of Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta (APEGGA), with offices in Calgary.

Geoscience Affairs looks after professional occupations in the geology and geophysics fields. APEGGA is the regulatory body that assesses, accredits and monitors policies related to Professional Geologists and Professional Geophysicists.

Networking Venues for Geologists

In job search, it is very important to become familiar with the geoscience communities in Calgary. By joining associations and societies, you have access to current events and industry trends/issues/policy revisions. Its a good opportunity to learn about key people, companies, projects and work in the geoscience sectors. Some of the organizations below host monthly luncheons and/or meetings a great opportunity to network and meet some people working in the industry!
