Work Culture and Everyday Life in Calgary
Calgary is one of the fastest growing cities in Canada, with a young and highly educated workforce. The high concentration of oil and gas companies makes Calgary a unique city in Canada, as the energy industry brings people with a worldwide work and life experience. Calgary has also a rich heritage through the Western farming roots of many Calgarians who moved to the big city, bringing with them a strong work ethic and a commitment to volunteer work: helping people and good causes.

Calgary ranks second in the number of corporate head offices in Canada, therefore everyday life in Calgary more isbusiness oriented and very practical with a strong commitment to work The workday can start at 8 AM or even earlier. It is not unusual to schedule business meetings at breakfast time. Calgarians like to work hard and play hard - that means long working days, but also time to enjoy life on weekends with friends and family.
